District 6930 World Peace Initiative 5/4/10
Recognizing the value of diversity within individual clubs, District 6930 leadership encourages clubs to assess their club’s peace consciousness activities in their communities and to create/adopt significant peace projects either locally and/or internationally, that promote Rotary’s concepts of peace consciousness, conflict resolution or cultural diversity, locally, and/or internationally. The Initiative is non-denominational, non-political and non-ethnic.
In the efforts that District 6930 pilot the first World Peace District in the world, the District 6930 World Peace Initiative has been developed with the objective of at least 75% of District 6930 clubs forming a “Community Peace subcommittee, and subsequently adopting and implementing at least two local/international world peace, conflict resolution or multicultural projects, which will qualify them as a “Rotary District 6930 Peace Community”.
