Earth, May There Be Peace

Thriving, ample orange groves,

where more is always better,

No more fighting at the dinner table,

when no one is the fretter.

“Somewhere Over the Rainbow,”

In Africa and beyond,

Where there may one day be some hope,

from an international endeavor.

Lovely little snowflakes,

white Christmas in Iraq,

with unflagging soldiers to,

“Insure domestic tranquility” forever.

With a conflict to put to end

and a ceasefire to approve,

a pen and ink in hand

to stop it all by way of letter.

During rain when there is drought,

or sunshine when flood recede,

nature is at peace, so why waste this time at war,

and get to enjoy it never?

Conflict, not always the obvious,

discrimination is one of these,

why not accept each others uniqueness’,

to avoid dispute as long as ever?

Days without a single discord,

months without at least one clash,

life without any debate,

impossible for even the weather.

Days with understanding,

months with true acceptance,

life of mostly harmony,

achievable for world peace whenever.

A Wish for Peace

May all the evils fall,

There shall be no stall.

I can hear the winds gentle call.

No harsh noise, just peace once and for all.

The stillness of night,

Will no longer give freight.

There will be no more fight,

We shall unite.

War,

Will be no more.
